about

Baulay is a tiny hamlet south of Tours in France. There is a big old hall there used by Jeanne d'Arc and the WW2 resistance. But I was strongly taken with the incredible frogs' song, it being mating season.

The frogs were Rana temporaria, the common European frog. They were busy at it in all the ponds around, which is why in some recordings you can hear more frogs singing off in the distance.
